Interactions of Feelings of Competence and Motivation of Pre-Service Science Teachers in Their Laboratory Course: A Dynamic Multilevel Modeling Approach

Dynamic structural equation modeling was applied to examine feelings of competence and in the moment motivation among pre-service science teachers ( N = 101) enrolled a course on practical biology during their second semester. The student completed short questionnaire 18 times, interaction between momentary over time examined relation control-value theory. autoregressive values both variables were significant, pattern observed low at beginning session, combined with moment. Feelings increased by end each session but returned level next session. Momentary followed this back-and-forth shifting somewhat showed more carryover effects. teachers’ depended from previous did not depend motivation.
